Golden Goddess Smoothie

I'm sure you've heard of Golden Milk, aka "liquid gold."  It's the Golden Goddess of drinks these days.  This powerful little drink lowers inflammation and increases digestion, all while tasting absolutely delicious.  It is commonly made with turmeric powder and warm coconut milk and served before bed, but it's also perfect served cold to start your morning, which is why I'm adding some fruit and making it a smoothie.  With just a few simple ingredients, you're on your way to lowering inflammation and having a nutritious breakfast to jumpstart your day and your metabolism!

 
Ingredients
  • 1 cup banana (fresh or frozen)

  • 1/2 pineapple (fresh or frozen)

  • 1 carrot

  • 1 cup coconut milk 

  • 1/2 tsp ground turmeric

  • 1 Tbsp fresh ginger

  • 1 Dash black pepper

  • 1 Dash ground nutmeg

 
Instructions
  1. Add 1 cup of ice and all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.  

  2. If too thin, thicken with ice (or add more frozen banana).  If too thick, thin with more coconut milk or water.

  3. Enjoy immediately! Keep leftovers in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
